Jacquie Drew performs beautifully both as a solo artist (self-accompanied on guitar or piano), as a duo, trio, or with "The Crew," her professional band of top-level musicians.
"The Crew" generally performs as 4-piece band that includes Jacquie Drew (rhythm guitar/vocals/harmonica/accordion), Lawrence Ball (we call him Papa B - on funky electric bass, guitar, and bluesy vocal stylings), and Anton Danielsen ("The Animal" on drums and, shall we say, cheeky vocals when you least expect it??). Does that only make three? In our fourth spot, we work with one of two lead guitarists - Allen Christie (amazing and accomplished singer/songwriter/acoustic picker) and Peter Boyce (stunning electric lead player, and great vocals/harmonies too). We also have a very talented alternate drummer (Ben Jackson) who has recently begun working with us. Basically, the Crew is a wonderful group of talented, professional and musical friends who have a great rapport on stage and love to make music together!
For larger shows, the band can bring in additional guest musicians performing on keyboards, pedal steel and/or fiddle...performing as an expanded 5 - 8 piece band. Jacquie has performed with countless top musicians over the years, and has many close friends who can blend right in with her core band.
"The Crew" also has its own sound and lighting equipment (and sound technician) providing an enhanced quality/clarity of sound, and visual appeal. It also allows us to effectively stage shows in spaces that aren't normally set up for live music.
